Discover Zimbabwe’s Artistic Soul
Shona Sculpture Studio Tours by ZimSculpt invite you to explore the origins of Zimbabwe’s globally acclaimed stone sculptures. For over 25 years, ZimSculpt has taken Shona sculpture around the world — from Europe to the United States, into major museums, botanical gardens, private collections, and public institutions. Now, for the first time, we welcome you to experience it at the source – Local Tours in Zimbabwe.
These tours are not just site visits — they’re a powerful cultural immersion. With expert insight and guidance from the ZimSculpt team, you’ll step into the creative spaces of master sculptors such as Dominic Benhura and Joe Mutasa, and visit family-run studios like the Nyanhongo and Mariga families. You’ll also explore vibrant community art centers across Chitungwiza, Mabvuku/Tafara, Hatfield, and Friends Forever in Ruwa.
Each stop provides live sculpting demonstrations, personal stories, and hands-on appreciation of the Shona sculpture tradition. You’ll also have the rare opportunity to purchase original artwork directly from the artists — a meaningful way to support Zimbabwean talent and carry the story home with you.
Choose between half-day (9 AM–12 PM or 1 PM–4 PM) or full-day tours (9 AM–4 PM), and deeper visits to locations like the renowned Tengenenge Art Community including a picnic lunch.
These tours are ideal for cultural travelers, art enthusiasts, and collectors. They also offer enriching experiences for diplomats, visiting delegations, corporate teams, and anyone passionate about learning or contributing to Zimbabwe’s vibrant art scene.
Join us to witness where tradition meets innovation — and where the enduring power of Shona sculpture continues to shape stories, identity, and beauty.
