2007 Chelsea Flower Show

17 June 2007

Typically the weather has been pretty bad during Chelsea for the past 3 years, but this year the weather was great during the show. However setting up and breaking down after was not so fun – in rain and wind. But after all our hard work putting our Zimbabwean garden together it was well worth the effort. We won a Commendation for our stand, which is the highest accolade in our category.

Her Majesty The Queen and entourage walked past our stand. We mingled with celebrities and royalty on Press Day and enjoyed the usual atmosphere Chelsea Flower Show creates.

A big thank you to all of you who supported us, it’s nice to see old faces and friends. Without you we would not be where we are today.

There is much to love about the pairing of ZimSculpt and VanDusen. The combination of art and the garden enhances the experience of both. The larger Zimbabwean sculptures seem ideally suited to outdoor display: they are perfectly at home rising from a bed of perennials or standing tall beside Cypress Pond, and they act as dramatic accents to the Garden’s picturesque landscapes.
