Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens

Location: Punta Gorda, Florida, USA
Previously ran: 2022

Abutting the Peace River, this 30-acre waterfront oasis encompasses the diversity of five ecosystems including marshlands, wetlands, mangroves, uplands, a tidal basin and an island amphitheater.

Flowering trees and plants bloom throughout the year, and more than 15,000 sq. ft. of boardwalks and docks provide optimum viewing of the Garden’s massive sculptures.

ZimSculpt is delighted to be invited to this newly developed garden.  We will, as usual, place over 100 major stone sculptures throughout the gardens and have our ever-popular Market Place open for stunning smaller works.  All work throughout the garden will be for sale, so, if you had that spot crying out for a sculpture at home or in the office, come and take a look at our exhibit.

Our two sculptors joining us in 2022 are Passmore Mupiniko and Brighton Layson.  Passmore and Brighton will be demonstrating daily thier amazing skills in stone and enlightening us all in Zimbabwean culture.

We cannot wait to greet you in Florida!

A real treat here in Wimbledon. At Cannizaro Park a superb open-air exhibition of Zimbabwean sculpture. There were many pieces, large and small, and a wide variety of different stone used in imaginative ways. And, overall, a real sense of Africa, linked to a long artistic tradition.

I was told that many of the sculptors had been trained within their own families: a father, an uncle, a grandfather, passing on the old skills.
