Losing My Habitat

Losing My Habitat is a contemporary Shona Sculpture for sale. Produced by the talented Godfrey Kututwa. It was sculpted in the stone Springstone and its dimensions are 33 h x 18 w x 11d.

Godfrey Kututwa’s education was cut short by lack of funds to pay school fees and by his own physical disability- he cannot speak and is almost completely deaf.

Godfrey began sculpting at the age of 21 as a result of encouragement from Claud Nyanhongo, one of Zimbabwes leading artists (several of whose sons and daughters also sculpt). For several years he stayed and worked with Claud, mostly in Chitungwiza, a high-density village, about 20 kilometeres from Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare. Read more here
