Zviito Chawani

Zviito was born in Mashonaland Central, Mazoe District at Jingamvura.

Both hisprimary and secondaryeducation was at the Jingamvura School.

At school he showed a passion for making craft such as wire toys, clay idols, drawing and making ash trays. Even at home during his spare time itwas a hobby.

After finishing school in 1993 he joined one of the minors in the area mining stones for sculpting such as Opal and Cobalt stone. After half a year Zviito thought he must learn how to make stone sculptures using the idea from school and he became seriously motivated as a junior artist. He became specialised in making birds and human figures. To add more knowledge he joined one of the senior artists in the area who was Biggie Kapeta (he is now late). He worked with him for some months and after a year Zviito started doing his ownwork until the present day. He now specialises in abstracts and creations.

His works have different moods and feelings which makes him easy to market e.g. curves and balls which indicates something new. In life every stage when you grow up you meeet something different and there is no way out, everyone passes through that stage.

His work gained much respect locally and internationally.
