Thomas was born on the 12th of August 1980 in Guruve. He is of the Tembo Mazvimbakupa totem of the korekore tribe. Thomas grew up in Nyamhondoro village where he attended primary education. However, he could not go for his secondary academics as a result of ill health. As soon as Thomas quitted schooling, he started on stone sculpting. He gained a lot experience in 1996 from Sonwet Murombedzi and Edmore Maurukira who were doing stone works at Hwadaya village. After a year of hardworking he started making sales whilst displaying his sculptures at Hwadaya Gallery. This gave him a lot of courage to increase his efforts and become a permanent sculptor.
In 2000 he came to Tengenenge Art Community to reside with his uncle Manager Murombedzi who was already established in stone works at Blomefields gallery. At first he brought with him a few sculptures that he showed to Chairos Muchembere who was the director of Tengenenge at that time. His works proved his excellence after they bought even before him being given a stand to display them. After this sale he brought all his sculptures from Hwadaya Art Gallery to Tengenenge and he became a permanent resident at Tengenenge. At Tengenenge he started working of human figures as lovers and heads that he gave the title eyewitness. It was after then that a certain client brought a booklet and encouraged him to create a fish from the booklet. From the booklet, he created the seahorse and it became one of his most selling creations. Thomas went on to create a mother and child. He had realized the importance of woman as parents. As according to him, they went through difficulties and hardships in upbringing children. They always play a pivotal role in every individuals life.
