Tawanda was born in 1977 in Chikwaka and is from a family of boys.

He started to sculpt in 1995, the year he completed his O Level education. And worked as an assistant to Dudazi Mushawepwere (also listed on Zimsculpt.com) and started to create his own works in 1997.

His pieces have been collected for major exhibitions in Belgium, Germany, Britain, Australia and the U.S.

His younger brother Henry has alsoinherited his hand at sculpting and isnow producing cutting edge designs alongside his brother.
