Stanley was born on 23rd May 1977 in Harare Central Hospital. He was educated in Harare from primary level to secondary level and went on to work as an Accounts Clerk at Aroma Bakeries. This soon dissatisfied his artist temperament and he finally came back to sculpting in 1990 and is now working under the influence of his nephew Dominic Benhura and friend Patrick Gutsa.

Stanley likes to make animal forms and is particularly well known for his aquatic life, even though Zimbabwe is a land-locked country.
