Born in 1986 in Guruve, Northern Zimbabwe, Preveledge Garadi was immersed in a rich sculpting tradition from an early age. Growing up in a community that nurtured world-renowned sculptors such as Brighton Sango, Bernard Matemera, and Henry Munyaradzi, he was inspired by his elder brother to explore the art of stone carving. His work reflects a deep connection to nature and traditional Shona beliefs, often interpreted in abstract form.
In 2005, Preveledge moved to Harare, where he honed his craft in the city’s thriving arts scene. Under the mentorship of Tapfuma Gutsa during his time at Harare Polytechnic College, he refined his artistic vision, paving the way for his emergence as a globally recognized sculptor.
Over the years, his sculptures have captured the interest of audiences worldwide, making him a favorite among Zimbabwe’s Diplomatic Corps and an esteemed figure in contemporary Shona sculpture.
