Fungai was born in Mutare, the border of Zimbabwe and Mozambique, in a family of 5.

He grew up and attended schoool up to O’levels in Mutare.

Fungai was inspired by Robert Kwechete (one of the well known second generation stone sculptors) and worked with Roert for a while then left to do his own works.

He is now married and blessed with two girls, Irene and Lillian.

He is looking forward to going further in his career.
