Emmanuel was born on the 4th September 1975 in a family of nine, in Marondera. Although he did not perform excellently as school he managed to make 3 subjects and went on to work for the company CSC as a skinner for two years.

His first contact with sculpture came in 1998 when he visited his Uncle Sylvester Mubayi and was impressed at what he saw. He started off by helping Sylvesters son George Mubayi by sanding and waxing his sculpture. From there he learned the basics of stone carving which include the use of basic tools like the punch, chisel and chipping hammer. Later he learned the all-important art of translating what is in the mind to the stone.

With regards to subject matter, he prefers to sculpt human figures the most, as he is in constant communication with people and finds it easier to sculpt their form. Emmanuel feels inspired to go on by his utmost dedication to achieve that which he feels is within reach.

There are a lot of people whose works inspire Emmanuel, these being the works by his uncle (first generation sculptor) Sylvester Mubayi and second generation sculptors like Derek Macheka and George Mubayi, his mentor. When he observes works from these sculptors he feels he can do just as well. His hope is that one day he will become a recognized and accomplished artist both locally and internationally, as well as being a shining example for his fellow sculptors to follow.

Emmanuels works are exhibited at Chapungu Sculpture Park in Zimbabwe and have also been collected and exhibited by customers all over the world.
