Chamunorwa Rumano

Born on February 21, 1980, in Murehwa, Zimbabwe, Chamunorwa Rumano grew up in a family of sculptors, where artistry was not just a skill but an ancestral inheritance passed down through generations. As the youngest of eight children, he was surrounded by creativity and craftsmanship from an early age.

His great-grandfather carved traditional tools, and his brother, Nelson, became a second-generation sculptor. Inspired by his family’s legacy, Chamunorwa found his passion for sculpture after completing his ordinary level. He began his journey in 1998 by assisting his brother—filing and rasping stone—until he developed his own unique artistic voice.

Today, his works are exhibited internationally in America, Canada, Germany, Holland, and beyond. Specializing in birds and human figures, his art is deeply inspired by nature and the everyday human experience.

“I strive to create unique works that resonate with people and reflect the beauty of life. My dream is to become a world-acclaimed artist, continuously pushing the boundaries of my craft.”

When he’s not sculpting, Chamunorwa enjoys watching soccer, reading, and socializing—finding inspiration in both movement and stillness.
