Agrippa Farai Ndongwe

Agrippa Farai Ndongwe is a distinguished Zimbabwean stone sculptor, born on July 11, 1953, in Mutare, Manicaland. His passion for art began at an early age, creating drawings with colored pencils and working with plasticine and clay. Over time, his artistic expression evolved into stone sculpting, a medium through which he has gained international recognition.

Ndongwe’s sculptures are deeply rooted in themes of family, love, and spirituality. His signature works include family bonding sculptures, mother-and-child pieces, wedding rings, and eternal lovers, all symbolizing the strength and unity of relationships. He carves using Zimbabwe’s finest stones, such as colorful light serpentine, black and green serpentine, and other high-quality materials.

His talent has taken him beyond Zimbabwe’s borders, with many of his pieces found in Europe and the U.S.A. In 2000, his work was showcased in a successful month-long exhibition in Hanover, Germany, leading to an invitation from Spirits in Stone Galleries for demonstrations and workshops in San Francisco, California.

Ndongwe takes pride in his Zimbabwean heritage, often referring to his homeland as the House of Stones, a nation rich in artistic tradition. Through his work, he continues to bless families and individuals worldwide, creating sculptures that capture the essence of love, care, and human connection.
