My name is Lovemore Mangenda. Born on 19/08/1979 in Nyanga Zimbabwe. I started carving in 1997 when I was in Form 3.  I got seriously into carving in 1999 when I finished my ordinary level. That’s when I started carving heads and that’s why I specialize on them.  Verdite, Butterjade, wood and other serpentine Stones are the material I use to carve.

I am one of the four artists chosen to go to Angola and South Africa to be teachers of stone carving.  Mostly i am inspired by history.
