Edrick Donsa was born in Mabvuku Township just outside Harare and has lived there ever since.
The house where he lives is about 20 metres from the Mabvuku Art Centre and he became curious about the sculpture they sold there since he was a toddler.
When he reached his secondary education at Tafara High School he used to assist the late Michael Nyakuromba with some of his work.
After school he found employment in the industries and although he saw the sculptors at Mabvuku Art Centre every day he had little time to work with the artists. When the Co-operative ‘Art Peace’ was formed he joined it and became an assistant to Itai Nyamadzawo and other artists who were members of the co-operative. And he has gradually started making his own sculptures.
Currently he specialises in pumpkins!
