Brian was born in 1973 in Harare.

Whilst at school Brian started to assist his uncle to sandpaper, polish and finish his soapstone curios. Brian must have developed his passion for sculpting at this tender age; he also went on to assist another uncle in carving wood sculptures in the many hardwoods that Zimbabwe has to offer.

In 1993 he joined a co-operative working on his own in woodcarving. The great forefather of Zimbabwe stone sculptures, Boira Mteki used to pass through the co-operative admiring Brians woodcarvings and one day asked Brian to join him as an assistant. Brian stayed with Boira for two years working at the Chapungu Sculpture Park in Harare, working in hard stones such as Serpentine, Limestone, Granite and Dolomite.

To gain more experience to become a professional artist Brian joined another popular artist Joseph Muzondo for a further year – this gave Brian the expertise to become a sculptor in his own right and thus signed a contract with Chapungu Sculpture Park for two years.

Brian believes he was born with his creativity, like most budding sculptors in Zimbabwe today, Brian holds a flair for the arts. The quality of his work far outshines many other sculptors of his era, even though he works on his own.

The beauty and movement of the figures he sculpts give a warm pleasing feeling to the viewer, often capturing the expressions and love which most of his pieces depict. His pieces would suit any environment, any place in the world.

Private owners and Galleries have collected Brians work all over the world – from the UK, North and Central America, Holland, Germany and Belgium.
