Bonface was born on the 8th of May 1964 in Murehwa Tribal Trust lands in Katiyo Kraal in Chief
Nyasina Area. He did his primary and secondary education at Chikuhwa Primary and Secondary
School. At school he did handwork and crafts as subjects. Bonface later did his final O-level at Seke
Mhuriimwe Secondary School. Initially he did part time carving while on holidays during school days
under the tutelage of Vika Ngwenya, one the best renowned fine art carvers. After school he
ventured full time in the creative art in 1997 up to this day.

He is blessed in various forms of creative arts namely the whole Big Five plus giraffes and hippos
because of sculpting and stone carving skills using a variety of stones. He earned the nickname
“MuroArts”, the name now synonymous with his signatures on most of his finished sculptures. The
sky is the limit because stone sculpting is his career. He works with self-motivation and of course
money as an incentive. He is a member of Chitungwiza Arts centre Association.
