Chelsea Flower Show 2006 was a great success for us…
We were awarded a Certificate Of Merit by the RHS for the oustanding presentation of our stand. Pictures of the stand and ourselves with the award can be seen below.
The theme of our garden was ‘Journey From The Depths Of Zimbabwe’ – the amazing journey sculpture goes through, to get to where it is today…
Half a Zimbabwean garden and half an English garden. The Zimbabwean garden; thatched Rondaval, red soil, maize and sunflowers and the English garden; old shed, green grass and country garden flowers. The sight was delightful and visitors swarmed the stand.
Brian Watyoka was our artist in residence for the week, starting to sculpt a 3 metre high raw piece of stone within the Zimbabwean garden. On the last day he had completed enough so visitors could tell that it was a female form. Watch this space to see the finished sculpture!
The stand took us one week to erect and two days to pull down!
