Born in the remote village of Chitaunhike in the Guruve District, Godfrey left school at 18.
In 1987 he started sculpting with Brighton Sango and after 6 months he was experienced enough to start working alone, from his rural home.
In 1989 Godfrey was part of the National Gallerie’s Annual Exhibition.
Since the beginning Godfrey’s customers include private and galleries from the UK, US, Belguim, Germany and Holland.
Godfrey is married but has no children. If he became a famous sculptor he said ‘ i would devote my money to help my local community and some of the disabled living here’.
